Find a district in your community that serves a high needs population and ask them how you can help. It’s really as simple as picking up the phone to get started. They may need help in the classroom, at the district level on a committee or have other opportunities.

If you are a parent, contact your school to find out the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) contact and schedule for meetings.

You can also contact your local United Way to find opportunities to volunteer with youth.

Or, check out 826 National to see if there is a mentoring opportunity near you.
